I’d been wearing the same glasses for the last 4 years. They were horribly beat up. The anti-glare/ anti-scratch coating had worn off so they were spotty and blurry. Apparently running them under hot water will do that.
A few months ago I read an article about young web entrepreneurs and one of them had started a website for frames, something like 1-800 Contacts but for glasses. I liked the site design but the glasses seemed very different for my usual style. I had been wearing semi-rimless glasses for a really long time. In any case, I was slowly starting to warm up to the idea over time.
About 3 weeks ago, I checked out the site again and was very impressed. The selection to me is a little one dimensional, but if you a looking for vintage style eyewear then this is the place to go!
One of the best things about the site is the Home Try On service where you get to pick up to 5 lenses to have shipped to you to try on for 5 days for free. Perfect! I get to test out the new style before making any mistakes purchases. I selected 5 frames and the wife agree on the selection before sending. They were shipped to me in a few days and within 30 minutes I had made my selection: these Sibley frames.
For $95 total (free shipping) I got my new pair of glasses and style. The confirmation email said it would take about 10 days, but I actually ordered my glasses on a Sunday night and got them Thursday.
The glasses came with the stylish box, along with the nice case and include wipe. If that wasn’t enough to satisfy me the icing on the cake is that with each pair of glasses bought, Warby Parker will donate a pair of glasses to someone in need. Stylish and charitable!
The wife likes them, the best friend likes them, and my boss, who is constantly ragging on my style, actually complimented me.
Everything about this process was simple and beautiful, from the site, the home try on, the emails, and the quality of the glasses. I am very impressed with this company and the level of product/ service they provide. I highly recommend that if you are looking for a pair of vintage styled frames, you have to check out WarbyParker.com
